Wiltshire Farm Foods launches BDA endorsed training

June 7, 2017

Wiltshire Farm Foods, the UK’s number one provider of home-delivered frozen meals, has launched its first British Dietetic Association (BDA) approved CPD training course for healthcare professionals.

The free two-hour training course, on the subject of Good Nutrition for Older Adults, is written by Wiltshire Farm Foods’ Registered Dietitian Helen Willis, endorsed by the British Dietetic Association and delivered by Registered Dietitian Sue Baic.

Following an open letter to the Medical Schools Council and General Medical Council in October 2016, which stated there was a lack of knowledge and understanding on the impact of nutrition amongst doctors, the course is designed to help increase the knowledge of healthcare professionals of the key nutritional issues in older adults; as well as identify the main risk factors that may lead to poor diet in older adults in the community and appreciate why it is important to address nutritional issues.

Sue Baic, Registered Dietitian, said, “Having a clear understanding of key nutritional issues in older adults and how best to support them is vital for many healthcare professionals. That’s why we’ve ensured the training highlights the impact of good nutrition on health and wellbeing and includes effective strategies to promote in practice.”

Healthcare professionals interested in attending the course can visit www.wiltshirefarmfoods.com/courses  to find out more information and register for free.
